*Women in the Garden* (1866): The goal of this project was to figure out how people in a landscape could convey the sense that air and light were moving about them. He did it by painting shadows, light with purposeful colour, sunlight streaming through the greenery, and reflections glistening through the darker depths. Camille is known to have posed for the three figures on the piece's left, but the faces of all the characters are left blank and not constructed in a portraiture style. The white of the garments has been skillfully represented by Monet, anchoring them firmly in the composition's framework - a symphony of greens and browns - supplied by the central tree and the path.*CLAUDE MONET (1845-1870) is one of the world's most famous painters, well-known today for his series of serene water lilies paintings, Claude Monet was instrumental in forging an entirely new direction for the world of art & impressionism. His distinctive use of colour, vision, and conformation would have a long influence on fine art, inspiring many great artists like Van Gogh.
