*A Cart on the Snowy Road at Honfleur (1865): The horse, the driver of the cart, and this scene all play small roles. The main highlight is the surrounding terrain, which is covered with snow. Monet developed a new viewpoint on light by depicting subjects coated in snow. Even though the colour variations in this image are quite slight, they vividly depict the scene as a whole. It is a peaceful, commonplace scene under a winter sky, with a lovely and thick layer of snow covering the ground, houses, and trees. Monet only used a few shades, but he managed to capture the light, shadows, and reflections on his landscape. *CLAUDE MONET (1845-1870) is one of the world's most famous painters, well-known today for his series of serene water lilies paintings, Claude Monet was instrumental in forging an entirely new direction for the world of art & impressionism. His distinctive use of colour, vision, and conformation would have a long influence on fine art, inspiring many great artists like Van Gogh.
